Hello Forum Helpers,
This may be a new bug in Avast Secure Browser.
When you do a Google search for, say, a restaurant, a church, a small business, you get a ‘Knowledge Panel’ on the right of the page, showing info about the top position business. At the top there are normally photo(s) submitted for that organisation.
I’ve been updating photos for my local church last week, and noticed that suddenly, no photos are displayed at all - just blank white. I checked a few other SMEs, and none of their photos are showing either.
Initially, I thought it might be a Google Search bug; but then I checked using other browsers that are not embedded in Avast, namely IE11, Firefox and Chrome, and ALL the SMEs that I looked at correctly show the photos. They also display correctly on my Android mobile phone.
But using Chrome in Avast Secure Browser, NO pictures are displayed.
Therefore, I conclude that this could be a new bug in ASB.
Can you please pass this on to the experts, as I don’t know how to contact Avast developers directly about this.
Many thanks.
Sincerely,
Philip Tory, BSc(Hons)., former Software Product and Quality Manager.

Hi Philip,
- Which version of ASB…??
- OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
Hi philip134, I’ve managed to replicate the issue in Secure Browser, but also in Firefox, Chrome and Edge, so it seems that it is a Google issue and not a Secure Browser issue.
It seems I can trigger the photos appearing/disappearing by changing the window size. In Secure Browser and Edge, it displays correctly for me in a smaller window, but not a larger one. For Firefox and Chrome, it’s reversed - it will display for me in a larger window but not a smaller one. I would advise you to report the issue to Google.
Please see attached images of the photos not appearing in Firefox, Edge, and Chrome, but showing in Secure Browser.
Confirmed. Whatever bug this might be, it’s not related to ASB.
