BUG - Virus Definitions problem

Hi,

Noticed a notification that said there was an unresolved issue. On checking this it said that my virus definitions are out of date.

When checking the updates section in the app, it said the definition version I had was 180521-06 (1 Jan 2014), which obviously doesn’t match up…screenshot attached.

Device:
OnePlus 3

Software:
Oxygen OS 5.0.1 (Android 8.0.0)
Rooted with avast given superuser rights for firewall

Avast app version:
6.10.8

I noticed the same issue today but, my definitions are dated 2013 :-\

Device: Pixel 2XL
Android OS: 8.1
Avast version: 6.10.7

Yeah, I have seen a couple of other reports of this in the forum

I uninstalled and reinstalled to see if it corrected itself but, nope. Also, previously could not login to my account on my phone but, anywhere else I could.

Both my Samsung J3 mobile and Lenovo tablet have this and both have 1 unresolved issue (but not what it is…unless it is the definitions issue).

I made this account just seconds ago so I can say that I also have this issue.

+1

Same issue

Add me to the pile…

Same here.

Same problem here.

I have the exact same issue on three different Android devices on two different networks. All three devices were fine up until about 90 minutes ago when all of them started reporting that there were Issues detected. All three report as version 6.10.7-317704-838c2c2 with virus definition version of 180521 -Dec 31, 2013. Attempting to check for updates just reports that I have the latest version of virus definitions. As of the start of the day this morning all three devices where running the latest released version of Avast Security Pro. I have attached a screenshot from one of my devices. Does anyone know if Avast is aware of this issue? Have they said anything at all? :-X

Me too

You can add me to the mix as well.

It’s sorted now! Definitions up to date and no vulnerability!

Hi everyone, thanks for reporting the issue, it has been fixed. Clicking on “update” on the results screen should help.

Hi ;D

Great new

What was the problem???

Gerald

A kind of trivial mistake - there was an incorrect “timestamp” within the updated version of virus definitions.

I am currently (2/19) having the same problem. I click on “resolve”, it says updating virus definitions and nothing happens. When I click on “settings” and “update” it says my definitions are current as of 2/3/19.
