Hi claudiubotezatu
I may be wrong, but I do not think what you stated would be classified as a “bug”.
Reason being, if you choose “Do nothing”, then technically, there would be nothing to “apply”,
and likely the button would/should be greyed out. The only option that is left is to close the
window, which is doing nothing to the files.
I can understand why it would appear as a possible malfunction, but at least to me, if one
chooses to do nothing to a file or files, only option is to close the status window.
Maybe someone else can clarify better than me.
Hi,
Was just an example, you can choose another action, still “Apply” is greyout.
Claudiu
Ok, thank you. That does clarify it a bit. So what you are saying
in this particular case, no matter the action chosen, the “apply” button is
greyed out? That is with any action chosen?
Maybe it is possible that whatever the files are, there is only one option
or action available to apply? Just thinking out loud. I have not run into this
particular event yet.
It could be possible it depends upon the settings of each scan within the
“Scan Computer” settings for each type of scan or the full system scan,
or maybe a custom scan you set up. Just a thought.
Thanks for reporting back
see the attachment.
Are they (the infected items) files or memory detections?
Thank you for the pic. Being the type of program is a PUP,
and the severity is “low”, moving to chest would be the safe
action to take until you could determine if the actual listed files
are indeed a low level threat, etc.
It is always possible for a FP or ‘false positive’ to happen, if so,
I would submit them to Avast! for them to verify the actual threat
or if it is in fact a false positive scenario.
Also, it does not look like the Apply button is greyed out, but obviously you
tried to apply and it did nothing?
Yes,
are “infected” files , in fact PUP on a hard drive but files I want to keep.
I was fooled by the same problem myself. If you will notice in the upper right side of the screen there is another field, “Results”. If you scroll over there you will find that the actions have already been taken. You may have to pull the divider between the “Action” and the “Results” columns to the left to read the “Results”.
Look into the chest and you’ll find the files have already been taken care of based on the default conditions in the scan if you haven’t changed them. What you are looking at is the final results of the scan and what the scan has done.
Not a bug…
Larry
Thak you for your answer!
No,there is nothing in chest! Please see the attachment: “Automatically apply action…” is not selected so nothing is applied on the end of the scan; now we should be able to select various actions for each detection. But for some reason "Apply’ is greyout.
I still believe that this is a bug.
thanks,
Claudiu
From your screen shot it appears that the “Action” would take place at the next reboot. It may be scheduled and thus not able to be changed. Have you rebooted?
I rebooted but the action was “do nothing” so is nothing to be seen ;D
In my opinion the action selected should hapren when you press “Apply” or you should get a message, something, when press "apply’ is the action is going to happen on next reboot.
Did u try pressing action button after scan??
what are the full paths of scan??
does it look like this as below?? :
process: 142xx
Yes I pressed but the “Apply” button is not active (seems to be half greyout)
The path is : E:\New Folder\bla bla …\ file.exe
did u run a memory scan with avast using the avast UI??
