avast has detected bugbear.b in my system and deleted all infected files.
could someone list the registy entries that I need to remove.
Will the avast virus cleaner remove those bad entries?
avast! Virus Cleaner deletes the corresponding registry entries (and temporary files, if any) during the cleaning process.
It means that if you already deleted the infected files, you are out of luck… when the Virus Cleaner doesn’t find any virus, it doesn’t clean anything else (since it doesn’t know what it should clean - the entries are bound to a particular virus, or even virus file).
Hi Hurricane,
-
if you still now the exact name and path of the infected file(s) you might try to clean it manually from the registry; make registry backup first
-
or use automated tools like regcleaner or powertools
-
and/or read in the virusinfo on avast, trendmicro, mcafee on the specific entries to remove
using the trendmicro virus cleaner I was able to clean the leftover entries.
I now have a totaly clean system agian 8)
