for years and years, longer than I can remember, I’ve learned to trust avast.
Today, that trust was abused, when avast wanted to restart my computer to finish an upgrade.
The computer started up and it told me it Avast was installing Google Toolbar.
In all my years of computing, I really think if I’d wanted Google Toolbar (or any other)
I know where to find them and really lose all respect for anyone that feels the need to hide or
bundle that - with a virus update.
I can’t think of anything that justifies it.
find a Justification for doing that, and then the next justification will be that much easier.
No Thank You - and Please do away with the sneaky install.
avast does not bundle the “Google Toolbar”
avast does have the “avast online security” extension which can be disabled in each of your browsers.
avast does bundle Google Chrome which is something the user can “opt-out” during install.
After program upgrade & system restart, Avast does gives a window to install Chrome & Google Toolbar. I too got the window.
If any of them is already installed on your system then they are not in the window.
I have also seen upgrade ad window with program update & after system restart.
Avast has become bloatware, annoyware, etc…
