Business Protection Remote deployment issues

Just purchased the basic Business protection plan with 62 licenses. I have installed the Admin Console and deployed the client to 3 computers successfully. I have now tried to deploy it to 4 other PC’s with no success. The failing PC’s are running XP SP3 and one is running Win7 X64 pro. The ones that have worked are XP SP3 and Win7 X32 pro. These are all on the same network with no domain control (nothing special just the same workgroup). There isn’t really any error codes or tips being provided… just the general you FAIL.

Is there another log file I should be looking at or any tips on how to get these to deploy? Is there any services that need to be started? One of these is straight out of the Dell box, so no previous protection has been on it.

If I am have having this kind of trouble on a local network I shiver at what will happen when I try my remote vpn networks.

Have you tryed to install the avast managed locally on these PC?

I have not tried it locally or by sending an email.

The main reason for this is the other 50 PC’s are all over the state or out of the state. So, if I can’t figure it out when I can walk over to it then I need to know that in advance. I can remote into about 95% of my offsite computers but would be alot easier to use the deployment feature.

I had this problem. Just out of curiosity try this browse to documents and settings > all users > application data > Avast software > mirror > then try to open the packages folder, if you get an access denied error this is the same problem as me. it happens quite often and the only way around it that i have found is to restart all the avast services and run the update server definitions job, then i have access to the packages folder and remote installs work fine again, for a day or two!!

the install logs are in the same directory as the mirror folder.

There are no informations related to deployment in mirror.log…
Look at aswRInst.log , that’s the one with info about unattended deployment.
