BV:AutoRun-E [Wrm]

Simply annoying. please can someone help me get rid of this…

it won’t let me move it, HELP…

Some information might help ?

Like why won’t it let you remove it, errors/messages, etc. ?
What is the infected file name, where was it found e.g. (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ?
Check the avast! Log Viewer (right click the avast ‘a’ icon), Warning section, this contains information on all avast detections. C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashLogV.exe

If by remove it, you mean delete, then deletion isn’t really a good first option (you have none left), ‘first do no harm’ don’t delete, send virus to the chest and investigate. Depending on the reason why action can’t be taken (file in use, etc.) that is likely to apply to move to chest also.

If you have XP, vista32bit or Win2k, you could enable a boot time scan. Right click the avast icon, select Start avast! Antivirus, a memory scan will take place followed by the opening of the Simple User Interface, Menu, ‘Schedule boot-time scan…’ Or see http://www.digitalred.com/avast-boot-time.php.

ok well it won’t let me put it to a chest. and the log says.“sign of BV:AutoRun-E [Wrm]” has been found in C:\autorun.inf file. and same with D:\autorun.inf file.

avast won’t let me move, rename, chest, or delete…? I use vista32

can you see the folder C:\resycled when you check to show hidden files (better to do that in some non-explorer file manager - FAR, TotalCommander etc)?

how would one find their hidden folders?

 Hi :

You should try using the FREE “Flash Disinfector” program, available at
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/Flash_Disinfector.exe .

thank you that did it =) woot!

Ensure that you have hidden files and folders enabled and disable hide system files in Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, Hidden files and folders, see image.

A boot-time scan should have been able to deal with that since windows isn’t running it wouldn’t have been in use. But Flash Disinfector should help.
