bye avast

I have been a avast user for many years , I have been using it for the past 3 years.

The first year I did use avast was a joy, never a problem everything working fine.

The last two years with avast Internet sec has been nothing but problems. And the problem I have is with downloading no mather what I download always I get a CRC-error.
and right now I am so feed up with avast and this bug is not something avast does anything to fix. I have been waiting for a fix to this problem but nothing is done about it.

So now I have daily remainder to renew AVAST!!!, in your dreams avast will never happen.

if you someday fix this bug I maybe comeback to a paying version but not the way it works now.

Have you tried to attach a diagnostic log here for somone to see?

Hi alphadec. Did you try doing a repair of your avast via add/remove. You can also try doing this

  1. Uninstall your avast via add/remove.
  2. Run this tool in safe mode http://www.avast.com/en-nz/uninstall-utility and follow the instructions.
  3. This tool is called Avast Cleanup Tool. Go to this link http://rejzor.wordpress.com/avast-cleanup-tool/. Go to this link scroll down a bit and you will see a zip folder of that click on it and after that double click on that file. Save it on your desktop unzip it. After that run this tool in normal mode. When it finishes it’s work. Restart your computer manually.
  4. Download a fresh copy of avast http://www.avast.com/en-nz/index. Download it and install it. Follow the instruction. After it has finished installing it it will run a startup scan. When it finishes. Restart your computer again. After restart register your copy of avast.

Since this is a continuation of your original problem from 3 months ago it would be wise to keep all information in the one thread https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=149066.msg1082869

Thanks for the tip, I will try this cleaner and see what happens. But I use CCleaner but lets try and see what happens.

Hope it works out? Don’t forget to write up your CD Key for AIS? I think you should type it up again after a fresh installation? I use the Free version of Avast
