Please!!! :frowning: Has anybody seen this one yet? When I scan with avast antivirus it doesn’t pick it up. However, while I am on the computer minding my own business it will open itself up. It has been happening for a couple of weeks now. It doesn’t show up in a window but it shows in my tool tray that it is open. But it’s nowhere to be found. I will right click on the box in the tool tray and get rid of it. And then a few minutes later it shows back up again. Any ideas on what it is or how you can get rid of ones the virus protection doesn’t pick up. Thanks

Look at the location. It is a temporary file. That is why it is sometimes there and sometimes not. Let us see if we can find out more. Post a HijackThis log here.

Thanks so much for the help. By the way I don’t know if it is the same thing or 2 separate things and just a coincidence but, it shows up sometimes the very same way except it ends in 585b micro instead of 553b. html. Thanks again

This is more like Spyware, Adware or hijack activity rather than a virus as it would likely be picked up if it were a virus.

If you haven’t already got these programs then you should get them and run them.

  1. Ad-Aware
  2. Spybot Search and Destroy
  3. HijackThis

A visit to Eddy’s HiJackThis Info and Analysis page, HijackThis log file analyzer would be helpful.
