After quarantining about 3000 malware and trojan infected files I’m left with four identical infected files (one in boot-scan, 3 in full system-scan).

the boot-scan results when trying to move the one infected file to chest read… Severity: High Error:ERROR oxc0000022. (-1073741790)

the full system-scan results in 3 more same as above and when attempting to move them to chest gives me: ERROR: Access is Denied (5)

QUESTION: Can I live with these as long as they’re not apparently propagating? Should I delete them? My computer is Toshiba 64 bit Windows 7 L455 laptop).

If my boot/system scans hold steady with 4 infections, can I live with this virus? My computer runs fine now. I’m not too lazy to download more appropriate anti-virus software, it’s that there’s risk in that whole process. More a “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Can I rely on avast scans to assure me these 4 infected files are not spreading?

i would not take that chanse… let the removers here clean you up
OBS: and they will remove the tool used when done

and Siref is a nasty rootkit… the forum here is full

Thanks Pondus. I appreciate you taking the time.

Unfortunately at the moment you are broke… Does windows updates work ?

Are you being redirected ?

You’re right, Windows updates says “the service is not running.” I’m not being redirected. What would you do?
