Why am I getting C:\WINDOWS directory name is invalid, error (267)?

It’s not the C:\Windows directory - it’s another one, with two strange characters appended.
Well, it’s strange… it’s just a wild guess, but it’s possible that the filesystem is somehow corrupted; I’d suggest running
chkdsk c:
from the command-line to see if it finds any errors.
If yes, I’d back-up important data from that disk and try running the disk check again, this time not in the (default) read-only mode.
I did checkdisk repair at boot-up and ran the scan again with the same result.
I have Avira installed as on-demand scanner and that doesn’t show it existing.
With hidden files showing I can’t see the folder.

maybe the windows directory got damage or having a problem try to reinstall your O.S again, it will be the best solutions…
If your computer supports a SMART scan, could you run that to make sure the actual disk isn’t damaged? Beware it is a very long scan
