C:/Windows/Installer/{1fc45a.... keeps coming back

Hi there, I’m new to the forums.
About a week ago, I believe my computer was infected with the Google Redirect Virus. After doing a bit of research, I used FixTDSS to attempt to remove the problem. It was solved, but only temporarily. The very next day, it came back. I used it once again, and it was gone for a few hours, but was back. I tried using TDSSKiller, but it failed to pick up anything.
About 2 days ago, I believe I picked up some more viruses. When using Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, I will get a popup. I never get popups like this, as I always have popup blocker enabled, but something always keeps popping up. The popups have gotten worse- it usually is just a blank page, but today I got a porn popup, and now some popups are related to my searches. (For example i googled thermos’ today, and a few hours later I got a popup regarding thermos’)
I ran malwarebytes a few times, and It always detects a few items (I’m not sure if they are viruses or trojans or whatever, I am not techsavy at all, please forgive me)
After a reboot to ensure the articles were deleted, I ran another search and malwarebytes detected them once again. I did this a few times, which leads me to believe that malwarebytes didn’t really detect anything.
After that, I decided to download Avast to see if it could fix this problem. I will be completely honest, I do not think I had a virus protection program until now (I think my mcafee is very outdated), and I usually relied on malwarebytes to get rid of anything (I haven’t really gotten any viruses in the past few years)
I ran an Avast quick scan, and it has detected a trojan I believe. I get a popup message saying its been blocked, but when the scan was complete it says no viruses were detected. Every few minutes Avast will alert me that the trojan horse has been blocked.
This is what I see at the virus chest (all the articles are exactly the same i think)

I was trying to do some research when this happened, and theres a thread with the same problem: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=102006.msg816150#msg816150
However, it said that the solution is PC specific and bad things may happen if i tried it by myself, so here I am, hoping someone can help me.
It is pretty late now so I am going to go to sleep after I post this. If someone does reply, forgive me for not being able to reply sooner.

Sorry, but I cannot find the extras attachment.
When i visited the thread Logs to assist in cleaning malware, I forgot to add in the code for the custom scan box, and I forgot to click under the extra registry box NONE
I rescanned it following the instructions but no extras.txt showed up

Hi an extras is only produced on the first run unless requested

Warning This fix is only relevant for this system and no other, using on another computer may cause problems

Be advised that when the fix commences it will shut down all running processes and you may lose the desktop and icons, they will return on reboot

[*]Then click the Run Fix button at the top
[*]Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done
[*]Open OTL again and click the Quick Scan button. Post the log it produces in your next reply.

THEN

Download and Install Combofix

Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here

[*]Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
[*]Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/ried7/NSIS_extraction.png

[*]When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
[*]Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Notes:

  1. Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
  2. Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
  3. If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

This is the OTL Log
I saved it in ASSI format i believe

I will run ComboFix right now.
EDIT: I have the combofix log now.
About how the PC is running, are there certain things you are looking for?

OK my next question is… How is the computer behaving now

I think its running much more smoothly now. My google searches no longer redirect me to other sites and I no longer get popups.
How can I make sure that the virus is gone completely?

The only forsure way is to reformat the computer… However, I can see no remnants of the malware at all on your system

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Run OTL
[*]Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

:Commands [resethosts] [emptytemp] [Reboot]

[*]Then click the Run Fix button at the top
[*]Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done

Remove ComboFix

[*]Hold down the Windows key + R on your keyboard. This will display the Run dialogue box
[*]In the Run box, type in ComboFix /Uninstall (Notice the space between the “x” and “/”) then click OK

http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee362/Essexboy3/Misc%20screen%20shots/CF_Uninstall-1.jpg

[]Follow the prompts on the screen
[
]A message should appear confirming that ComboFix was uninstalled

Run OTL and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself.

We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that

[*]Go to control panel
[*]Select folder options (Appearance > Folder options in category view)
[*]Select the View Tab.
[*]Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders.
[]Click Yes to confirm.
[
]Click OK.

Keep safe

Thank you
I have created the new restore point and deleted the old ones. I will get back to you tomorrow ^^

I am using avast to scan my PC before it boots up, and t says that it has detected that
File c/\programdata\ Microsoft\windows\ DRM\5F10.tmp is infected by Wim32:crypt-NKI[trj]
File C:\programdata\ Microsoft\windows\ drn\ A392.tmp is infected by win32:alureon-AUB

I moved both of them to the chest. I’m a bit concerned becAsue I ran malwarebytes last night and it detected nothing, but now avast is telling me I have 2 Trojans

They are both related to flash player http://systemexplorer.net/db/5f10.tmp.html

So you can either delete them or leave them… For peace of mind deletion will not be a problem to the rest of the system

Thank you so much for everything
You made everything easy to follow
Thanks again, my PC is running fine now!

My pleasure - keep safe ;D
