Call Filter feature request

Has there been any thought into linking the Call Filter to an app or a behavior on the phone? I’d like the ability to build a filter list and tie it to an app on the phone. So if someone VPN’s in to the corporate office or uses a SIP client on the phone the Call Filter list kicks in automatically. Once the app is disabled the Call Filter is turned off.

Hi,

this would be only possible if the apps being “linked” would support this. As far as I know, this is not possible in any other way on non-rooted devices. At least in case of SIP calls.

Just to be sure we are clear, I only want the Call Filter to be aware that other applications have activated and then enable the block list. I don’t want SIP calls blocked, just cell calls coming into the native phone. SIP calls will connect into our corporate office inside a VPN. We have seen some behaviors that a lot of SIP clients share resources with the native phone client on an Android phone. If you are on a SIP call and receive a normal cell call your SIP call is paused and the native phone app seizes the microphone and speaker. Using the Avast Call Filter I can block calls to the native phone client and talk on my SIP connection uninterrupted. When done with the my SIP call, I’ll shut down my SIP app and then Avast can disable the Call Filter.

Hi,

I think we understand each other. See, when a common phone call arrives, the system notifies all interested applications about it including some call details. SIP calls itself are (afaik) not really made by the system, the system only holds session details, but not what you actually do with the SIP session. Unless your SIP client doesn’t notify (registered) apps about the SIP call status, we can’t really tell when the call is taking place and thus can’t enable/disable the call filter.
