Can AEA manage client version 4.8?

I know that client 4.8 will not get updated after 2012 but I am wondering if I can use the 4.8 client for about 2 month with the AEA Console?

Since ADNM and AEA use a separate database it is possible to leave ADNM running during your migration to AEA so the 4.8 clients will continue to receive updates.

Yes eaxactly, you can leave old ADNM 4.8 on the same machine as new AEA v.7.
DB is new, communication ports are different, services are unique for each version.
