Can an app defined as NOT a virus?

I am using keystroke logger lite…Avast id’s this app as a virus. I would like to define it as as “acceptable app,” and not a virus. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!

This is possible by way of adding the application to exclusion listings.
Firstly in standard sheild provider and also in main scanner accessed through program settings.
