I want to install the new uefi boot with windows 7 64 bit, but from what I read on the internet I have to delete the disks, that mean C(windows), and D(in here I have my personal data like photo etc)? Or I can delete only the C partition(windows),without delete the D partition(my personal data), and hit new in order to create all 3 partitions, that require UEFI to work: System, Reserved, Disk 0(C), and preserve my D partition? Please I need a good advice, I don’t wont to loss my data.
hi RealNature,
We can worry about how to get UEFI to work properly for you later.
Creating an UBUNTU Live CD will work nicely to copy/paste all files and data you need to preserve before attempting the above steps needed to install UEFI boot.

Just be aware you do not want to install UBUNTU. Running as a Live CD means UBUNTU is not installed, but is run directly off the CD and in system memory. That means when you either shut your system down, or restart, all traces of UBUNTU will disappear. Windows will never know it was there.
Carefully check out detailed instructions on how to create a bootable CD or DVD in the webpage above. You will need at least two sources of backup media (otherwise it is not a backup), your choice as to what to use.
Implied in the new UEFI boot is an unspecified problem with your current setup? Ubuntu Live CD will help you with that so you can back up all your files first.
If no problems exist, why go this route?
Hmm thanks for the advice
NP.
Consider an older version of UBUNTU Live CD here: (These are direct download links to archived older versions)

The first thing to check though is… Does your computer support EUFI boot
Is supporting
OK the next thing to be aware of is that with this type of boot you cannot install a second operating system without some very convulated manipulation of boot sectors
Ok got it, but still, how remain with the delete and recreation of partition C, will partition D become C during this process, then recreated C will become D(change his name that is all about here, this stuff was happening in windows xp, I want to know if this thing still exist in w7)?
As long as D does not have an associated MBR and is not bootable it should remain as is
thx for clarifying
