Can AVAST FOR ANDROID prevent use of USB connection as removable device?

Hello all

I have a rooted HTC Desire HD I installed Avast Mobile on, with theft protection installed.
Is there a possibility that I uninstalled it incorrectly, leaving USB blocking enabled perhaps, that prevents a subsequent ROM installation from using the USB for anything other than charging?

I have tried two new roms. I have installed, and uninstalled (using uninstall wizard)and REINSTALLED avast with USB blocking disabled and I have still lost the ability to use my USB for anything other than charging. Does USB blocking only disable access to the device via ADB or does it disable the USB entirely?

I should add, between ROM installations, I formatted /system /data and /cache to ensure clean installs.

I suppose the USB port could have sustained damage coincidentally, when I was reinstalling roms.

Wonder if their is any precedent of this? ???

if anti theft is uninstalled, no USB blocking will be done anymore.

Thank you ‘Rein’.
Thats what I figured, but thought it prudent to ask.

Must be a bad USB port on my device.

I have a similar problem. I have NOT rooted LG P500 and USB is blocked as removable device, only charge. I haven’t time to discover problem close and go to service center. They replace system board. Now, I’m afraid to install Avast again.

Hi,

if they replaced the system board then it was clearly a hardware malfunction. It has nothing to do with avast!. I have various (dev/alpha/beta) builds on LG P500 for a year now and never had a problem.
