Can Avast Internet Security be infected or compromised?

Hi,

I installed Iperius Backup Free and monitored the install with Revo Uninstaller Pro. I decided not to keep Iperius Backup so used Revo to uninstall it. However Revo also showed a bunch of files in Avast’s location that it believed belonged to the Iperius install. I do use the Advanced Uninstall option which sometimes, though not often, find files that have no relationship with the traced program. So I’m guessing Revo just messed up.

However, this got me to wondering how Avast Internet Security protects itself. Also, is there an EASY way for users to check the integrity of the Avast installation to ensure NOTHING has tampered with it? I did look for information about this but could not find anything.

After exiting Revo I performed a Smart scan with Avast! Internet Security and found not problems.

I have Avast! Internet Security 2015 (paid for it). Running Windows 8.0 on a Laptop.

Thanks.

1]
avast has the self-defense module that prevent other applications (and users) to remove avast files.

2]
No need for the user to check the integrity.
avast checks itself when you boot a system and avast loads.
If needed, avast will “repair” itself in this process.

Thanks Eddy.
