I think avast CAN’T protect you from MITM because it doesn’t have that feature
You can use comodo firewall, which has MITM protection by enabling ARP spoofing protection
it’s compatible with avast but I recommend you to disable hardware-based virtualization in avast for maximum compatibility
avast has wifi inspector, which can detect but it’s a reactive feature. It can’t protect proactively
also, you should change your bank account password, wifi password, even the name of your wifi
also you should use sandboxie or comodo firewall’s sandbox every time you do a banking transaction so they can isolate you from the infected malware. moreover, you can use Chrome or firefox portable inside a sandbox so it’s safer because your current browser used for transaction might be infected with a spyware or a malicious extension
Use the Bank mode feature in Avast’s Secure Browser when ever you do your banking and shopping.
