In days of gobal user surveillance protection against Fake Cell Towers that spy on us is vital.
I did install Cell Spy Catcher App. Cannot Avast offer same functionality?

But the real problem can only be solved, by demanding better security solutions on the worldwide carrier level and to know the ins and outs of these networks.
“But the Government will never change. Everything will continue. It’s up to the people to secure their communications”
Given that currently the Avast Mobile Security doesn’t even have a firewall, I can’t see it adding other modules in the not to distant future.
Even with the anti-theft module also missing in action, there seems to be less and less. Not to mention that the anti-theft module needs to be rooted (not sure if the same is also required for the firewall) and many aren’t running rooted android OSes.
Well Yes & No, it might be back but it is rooted, so unless you have a rooted version of android nothing has changed. Not to mention that link is saying it is back in the Beta channel.
A sorry state of affairs really as Avast Mobile Security was reckoned to be “top of the bill”, now going down-hill to be B-class average.
The general stand of affairs in software is the same everywhere, mediocre, sometimes weakened and backdoored - a play haven for trackers, government spooks and hackers alike. Who is gonna defend us against dragnet metadata surveillance? Who is the last one to be found on the side of the obedient law-abiding citizen/end-user? Or are they all “in bed with” Big Brother Forces now?
