Can Avast effectively remove the Moviesdimension browser hijacker from my laptop? I am struggling to eliminate this harmful software that redirects all my online searches through a specific Yahoo search and collects personal information. Despite conducting a full virus scan with Avast Free, the hijacker was not detected. I would greatly appreciate any assistance. Thank you 
Have you tried to scan with Malwarebytes ?
You can do a lot yourself: Uninstall or disable all (potential) suspicious, unwanted, unfamiliar extensions (add-ons) from your browser. Check on your programs and apps and remove those that are suspicious. Pay attention to the programs that were installed at around the time that Moviesdimension.com started to show up. It could have come ‘piggy-backing[ on another install’.
Run Malwarebytes and Adwcleaner is a good start to begin with.
