Can AVG Link Scanner run next to avast with the shields?

Hi malware fighters,

Trying out the Stand Alone AVG Link Scanner, installed it in IE8 and Firefox (extension). Does this application interfere with the avast shields? They say the AVG Link Scanner can be used next to every resident av solution. Can anybody copy?

Works fine except I haven’t figured out if I can incorporate it into Flock…

Hi malware fighters and avast friends,

The evaluation of this was completed quickly, I have uninstalled it. It interfered with avast shield service for both IE8 (where it installed a toolbar), and inside my Firefox Shiretoko, where its extension also was outdated. So their claim that it can be used next to any av solution is not true, it cannot be used additionally to the avast shield applications. It is either this or that, I only had the avast shield protection left inside SRWare’s Iron (GoogleChrome clone), and at the end of the day I think the avast shield protection is excellent and better as theirs. I have established that myself now. Also it interfered with finjan secure browsing in my browsers. Also I am glad that WOT comes integrated into fx with NoScript, because I went to a known dubious site and AVG Link Scanner did not alert, but WOT stopped me in my tracks. So glad to be back home, folks. Tried it out, thanks the avast people for creating this superb av solution and in-browser protection, it is outstanding,

Polonus,
It’s working on my XP system. How well it works, I can’t tell you. You’re the expert. ;D

Hi bob3160,

You say that, complicating thing is we have some hick-ups with the shields in fx as DavidR just mentioned this, so the whole thing is not clear. Well it also made some things a bit slower, and too much protection I think is overkill, so finjan, WOT, NoScript, ReqyestPolicy and the avast shield is more than enough for the old pol,

Off Topic:
Can I add these add-ons to Flock and if I can, HOW ???

Hi bob3160,

Safe the firefox extension as an xpi file in a document, in Flock go to File down to Open File then install it, also read here: http://free.avg.com/ww.faq.num-1241#faq_1241
If it cannot install then enforce after you have installed it with the extension Nightly Tester Tools from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6543
