Hi, I`m new here so please no bashing thank you. I run the free Avast 4.8 home edition. I have a few files in my computer that was sent to the virus chest as repairing was not a option. The only one that is not in temp internet folders is the one called scanner.exe and its in my aol download. I am not having any issues with my computer that I can tell. Following is what my virus chest reads, thank you so much:
(File name 107ae10e9febf209980) JS:FakeAV-EJ (Trj) 5/08/2010
(File name 4 Menu [1.HTM) HTML:IFrame-inf 09/16/2010
(File name example_form [1.htm) JS:ScriptIP-inf (Trj) 10/17/2010
(File name Listfile [1.js) JS:FakeAV-FF (Trj) 08/12/2010
(File name Scanner10[1.HTM JS:FaveAV-DO (Trj) 08/14/2010
(File name scanner.exe) Win32: Trojan-gen 10/16/2010
Thank you and call me crazy but I run an older computer with a OS which cannot accept many new upgrades and Avast is one of those. Thank you for your reply and I will do this. Many smiles and thanks…Raylene
Ah are you running 98 ? If so you will have to find another AV come the end of the year as 4.8 will no longer be supported
The only one I know of that will is Clamwin however, there is a big proviso on it
Please note that ClamWin Free Antivirus does not include an on-access real-time scanner. You need to manually scan a file in order to detect a virus or spyware.
To be quite honest yes I am running win me. I work in bio pharmaceutical and we have been many rounds with the micro people regarding informations stored on computers of old. They will support our older systems until 2014. Thats a wonderful thing for all the sick people out there. Thing is we found many cures for many illness on these older cpmputers. I continue to have success with my older ones and sometime much better than he new fangled ones. Certainly we are in the process of moving all informations to new computers. Thank you for the input and perhaps someone will again grace us with a program that will help us until we get our ducks all in a row…LOL Have a great afternoon. Smiles and thank you…Raylene
