Can I disable specific types of "Threat Secured" messages?

Hi.

Is there a way for me to disable specific types of “Threat Secured” messages in Avast Free?

Especially for URL:Mal and similar ‘problems’. I don’t mind Avast aborting the connection, but the screen that pops up is front and center and steals focus. For an URL:Mal I think this is excessive.

Maybe instead have it send a message to Windows Notifications, but otherwise not bug me.

I get these messages with some regularity. Usually some cloudfront server that was deemed to contain something nefarious, and just browsing a site like imdb will sometimes trigger this alert a dozen times for a dozen random URLs of somerandomalphanumericstring.cloudfront.net

These are likely false positives to begin with, but whatever. Pages usually load just fine with the aborted connection. I can do without the big bad scary popup in the middle of my screen that I have to interact with to dismiss. I get it: its function isn’t so much to alert me, but to push the “Upgrade your protection” button, but it is super annoying.

I want to keep alerts for real threats, but it would be nice if I could exclude some types without resorting to Silent Mode. Now I have to either suffer every minor alert, or forgo all, including serious ones. There has to be some reasonable middle ground, like how Limited Mode works (which I use)

As far as I’m aware there is not, whilst you can exclude a specific website, but not a malware type.

If it did so you would be wide open to legitimate detections under that same exclusion, I don’t think it would be wise to do this.

Even if it were possible how would you know it was because of the exclusion or a broken website. Not to mention URL:Mal is a legitimate category.

Again: I don’t mind the connection being aborted. So there is no threat. But I want to be able to not see the popup in the middle of the screen that stays topmost and must be manually dismissed, every single time it pops up. Which can be for every single new page load on a site.

If Avast shows a notification in notification center it will still inform users a site was intervened with.

Edit: and I’m of the opinion that URL:Mal is mostly nonsense to begin with. If a site has a link to something that may or may not be problematic, then Avast should prevent that specific link from working, and not block the entire domain outright. At least I should have the option to relax this overly restrictive behavior.

Alternatively I wouldn’t mind a way to disable all alert popups in the middle of the screen alltogether, and just have them be notifications or some other tray area alert. An expert mode that is less panicky.
