Can I disable the p2p shield if my p2p client is not supported?

I’m using BitSpirit but it’s not supported by Avast. If I add AV scan files on completion of the download in BitSpirit options can I disable the p2p shield to save system ressources? I suppose it’s running for nothing if BitSpirit is not in the supported application list. ???

I answered in the topic where you first asked this question 10 minutes earlier:

You will be releasing virtually nothing if you are using a P2P application not on the list the P2P shield will be idle. However if you used another you wouldn’t have to remember to enable the protection.

You could if you wish though Terminate the P2P shield, left click the avast ‘a’ icon, from the window that opens, click the Details… >> button (if one is displayed) and select the P2P shield, click Terminate and answer Yes to the Persist question or it will be restarted on the next boot.

Well, when you post in a old thread, it’s get bumped to the top of the first page, and members see it and it’s big chances that you will get an answer to your question
