can i modify the file Avast4.ini ?

i use avast! home edition 4.8.1173,can i modify the file Avast4.ini ?i want to change ‘ShowHelpCheckList’ 0 to 1. thank you!

4.8 not permit me change the file avast4.ini .

I just changed my avast4.ini on making the change in notepad and on saving I got an alert was I sure I wanted to do this, etc. (I can’t recall the exact words) on confirming this it allowed the save. I checked the file again and the changes were still there, no roll back, etc.

If this doesn’t work for you then you would have to disable the self-protection, Program Settings, Troubleshooting, uncheck the Self Protection option and reboot (required to change self protection setting).
