After the last update of AVAST (15-11-2004) I can not connect to my router anymore. It seems that I do not get a IP adres from the router. I have tried my old ADSL modem via USB, same problem. Also my IPAQ (via USB) does not connect to my computer anymore.
De-activating all options of AVST does not help. De-installing solves all problems.
Now I’m forced to use an other Virus-scanner for the time being.
Who knows all the answers???
What is your operating system? Did you have avast 4.1 installed? Was it working okay?
Thanks
Vlk
I was running always the last version of AVAST. After the last update (15 November) my problems started.
And the OS?
And are you saying that even USB devices stoped working???
Or just network-related stuff?
Thanks
Vlk
OS is Windows XP service pack 2.
My old ADSL modem is via USB but acts like a network connection. Same fault: can not get an IP adres.
I’d like to know if it has anything to do with the aswTdi.sys driver. Could you please try deleting it from \windows\system32\drivers, rebooting and see if it helps?
Thanks
Vlk
Bingo !!
After deleting the file all works correct.
Do I have a risk after deleting this file or can I leave AVAST running and your college’s scanner not?
P.S. I get the error messages in the attached file.
Hmm, that’s not very good I’ve got to say. I’ll try to get some more folks involved who’ll be responsible for handling of the problem. Thanks.
Okay, thanks. Good luck.
If you need any additional info, please let me know.
