can not open avast pro.

i have avast it runs in the morning with no problem

but later in the day i want to go into avast

i click on the icon,the screen comes up to test to the memory and the startup files

then it disappears,the only way i can get into avast after that is to reboot of the computer

any help here

avast is a resident AV application so you shouldn’t need to click on the avast icon on the desktop, it should already be running with an avast icon in the system tray.

What exactly are you trying to do, “but later in the day i want to go into avast” ?

That icon on the desktop is normally used to start avast from safe mode (run the memory check and open the Simple/Enhanced User Interface) as avast doesn’t start in safe mode.

If you run ashSimp2.exe, will it stay opened and functional?
Maybe you`ve experiencing trouble with the skins…

i have it on another computer and i can open it no problem

i just want to know if there was a virus or not and if there was an update

i tried ashSimp2.exe does not exist on my computer

Are you using Site Advisor?
