I wanted to replace AVAST by VIPRE.
When removing AVAST i was asked tot reboot. After this my computer went in a repair loop.
I have a reboot cd with Windows 8.0 so i can use the command line.
I have run the EASYRE automatic repair utility with no results.
I have installed the FRST64 program on an USB stick and have run the scan.
In my opinion AVAST is still active on my computer and blocking things.
Tnx for your reaction.
Sry if i sounded impatient.
The reason i have not added the additionele.txt is, because it is not produced when i run FRST64 from the USB STICK.
I gruess because the system is start up from the recovery CD.
My Windows 8 was preinstalled so i have no install cd.
I copied the volsnap.sys out of my x:/Windows/system32/divers.
I was not able to reinstall the bootcat.cache in the way discribed in your link, because thee were no tmp files in the map DM discribed.
Hereby a New FRST.TXT.
Shall i proceed with the fix?
My computer is a GAME PC MAX Intel Code i7 4770 3.4 Ghz Msi Z87 G45 Gaming. ASUS Xonor DG, 16GB DDR3, with a 250 SSD Samsung 840 EVO, and a 2000 GB satalli drive, build 10/10/2013.
I did the fix, checked with the FRST64 SCAN if the richt line had dissapeared, and then i restarted.
A blue screen with the errors message INACCESSABLE BOOT DEVICE appeared.
I did a boot with the recovery CD and selected repair.
I got a message that is was not possible to repair with automatic repair and that i had to look at the SRTTRAIL logging file.
Hereby i attach the files in the logfiles map.
BTW I did already a chkdsk on my drives with no errors.
Thanks for trying to help me everyone.
I started avastclear.exe already in recovery from my USB
It is not working and gives the message: ‘The subsystem which is required for the support of the type of installation image, is not present.’
The description of the utilty is, that it had to be started in the safe mode which is for me not possble to start.
Anyhow, i contacted my computer seller for the product key of my windows so i can make an install USB or CD with downloadable windows as Essexboy suggested in reply 13. I’m waiting for there reaction because their business opens again monday.
I’m afraid there is no other sollution as trying to reinstall windows 8.0/8.1
