can not remove Win32:RLoader-B

Hello there, and thank you in advance for your help!

This little bugger is a pest, I’ve had it for quite some time now. I acquired avast about 2 months ago when this file took over my last anti-virus program, basically ate it up and spat it out.

Now, avast detects this file - however, I can’t remove it. No matter what option I choose (move to chest, delete, etc) it gives me a red X and says " Error: The process can not access the file because it is being used by another process (32).

I tried to do a few boot scans and I basically got the same result; it would detect the file but every time I selected an option, I just got ERROR.

A suggestion was made to me to try and do the boot scan in safe mode, which I did, and still got the same result as above.

Now, I can not restart my computer at all because if I do, the virus comes right back into full swing, where as right now, it’s not bothering me (as far as I can tell.) When the virus is a-rocking, I can not access anything that has to do with Google, and it is a general pain in the arse.

File name & path:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\c_7265234.nls

Again, your help is so much appreciated!

Also, I am not stupid, however - I don’t really speak ‘tech’ or ‘computer’ language, so if you could go semi-slow with me and speak to me as if I am a child (you know what I mean) I would appreciate that.

follow this guide: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

follow the guide True Indian gave you…

pondus - is there something wrong? sorry, just trying to reiterate what i’ve already tried, and as I stated earlier, I don’t understand this computer stuff much, sorry I’m not a genius like you. maybe someday…dreams

I digress…

indian: things are way worse off now after downloading this MBAM thing, it didn’t detect anything, but now there are popups galore all over the place, even when I haven’t opened a web browser.

*note - when I initially tried to download and install mbam, I got a box that said my computer had to be restarted in order to be able to download the rest of mbam, when I restarted, mbam was not on my computer at all, so I went back to the forum website and downloaded it from there as instructed. Also, upon reboot, after entering my password, it took a significant amount of time, way longer than usual, to boot up to the desktop page. It sat on a blue screen w/my mouse for a good 10+ minutes…

Proceed to the OTL step please and we will take it from there

pondus - is there something wrong?
no...just that the one that told you to run boot scan from safe mode is a bit wrong avast does not run in safe mode....but it is possible to start boot scan from safe mode using comand line. anyway a boot scan is a boot scan ...does not matter where you start it from, and you have already run it ....with no success

continue with Essexboys advice

Argh, so on my computer, I can’t post to this forum because the Verification thing will not appear.

So, I am on my phone.

I have my OTL log, it may not be in the exact file form you asked for, but I hope it works. I uploaded it to my SkyDrive so I could post it on my phone.

Here’s the OTC LOG : https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=ABF80CC29A2EBEFE!203&authkey=!ABcUvTbNTPFwpcs

it is only the first 3 posts...(spam protection)....so you are done ;)

What is that remote viewer thing?
Is there a way I can speak privately to someone that is helping me, with just one question, so it’s not available for the public eye?

THEN

Download and Install Combofix

Link 1
Link 2

  • IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here

[*]Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
[*]Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks

[*]When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
[*]Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Notes:

  1. Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
  2. Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
  3. If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

FINALLY

run farbar service scanner

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/73555776/FSS.GIF

Tick “All” options.
Press “Scan”.
It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.

Please copy and paste the log to your reply.

Hmmm how long is this kill processes thing supposed to last? Last time I did one of these, it took like 2 days and didn’t do anything…

And right after I hit “run fix” a box came up that says

Mbam service terminated unexpectedly: see event log for details

I clicked OK but that box is still there

I messed up, eh? :frowning:

It is just MBAM being a pain in the butt again

Remove the following line from the OTL script

[emptytemp]

Then re-run it

I’m going to have to manually restart the computer though, it appears to be frozen/non responsive, or should I CTRL alt del and task manage??

scratch that, CTRL alt del does nothing.
