Can not restart Avast after removel of virus

My PC was infected by virus. I think I have cleaned it now, but when I try to start Avast I get this msg: The RPC server is too busy to complete this operation.
Any suggestions what to do?

Hi you still have a lot of McAfee remnants to remove

Download and run the removal tool from here http://us.mcafee.com/apps/supporttools/mcpr/mcpr.asp

Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe

Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.

[*]Close all open programs and internet browsers.
[*]Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
[*]Click on Scan.
[*]After the scan is complete click on “Clean”
[*]Confirm each time with Ok.
[*]Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
[*]Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer.
[*]You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S0].txt as well.

Once done let me know if you still get the error

Hi.
I have now done everything by the book, but still getting the same problem; can not open Avast. Yesterday, before I stert to remove the virus, I upgraded my Avast, but when I try to enter the code, I just get the message that the server is busy, and I must try again later. I have attached the latest file as described.

You may need to re-install Avast

Download Avast Uninstall Utility to your Desktop.
Download the correct version of Avast
Avast Free
Avast Pro
Avast Internet Security
Avast Premier
Disconnect from the net
Uninstall Avast via control panel

[]Run the uninstall tool and accept the reboot to safe mode
[]Once complete reboot your system
[*]Reinstall Avast

BTW, should I keep any of those programs (adwcleaner, FRST64) and use regulary for checking for virus or malware?

Unless trained in the use of FRST you have no use fore it as you will not understand how to use it. It is a tool you download and use when needed and instructed to from a expert like essexboy

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Remove tools

Download and run Delfix
Select the options as shown

I would recommend that you completely uninstall Java unless you need it to run an important software.
In that instance I would recommend that you disable Java in your browsers until you need it for that software and then enable it. (See How to diasble Java in your web browser and How to unplug Java from the browser)

If you do need to keep Java then download JavaRa
Run the programme and select Remove Java Runtime. Uninstall all versions of Java present
Once done then run it again and select Update Java runtime > Download and install Latest version
