well if this is in a symantec backup file it is not likely to hurt anything so do not panic
Do or did you have Norton or Symantec anti virus or was it pre instilled on your machine
did this machine have Norton/Symantec anti virus on it- ANSWER THIS question first
Are both Norton and Avast installed?
Was Norton uninstalled?

did you have avast move it to the CHEST?
If Avast found the file could you post the log?
where did you look this up?
(there are a lot of look up sites that just want to sell you something so BVVC)
the only thing I found was a correlation with Bagle/ Beagle
Where did you find the Nutcracker reference- there are a lots of versions of nutcracker

so let’s do the whole drill and you are going to learn a lot and be an expert when you are done

TECH suggests: (slightly modified- go step by step take your time ask questions)

  1. Clean your temporary files. use ATF Cleaner, CCleaner, Internet options
    delete cookies etc

  2. Schedule a boot time scanning with avast with archive scanning turned on. If avast does not detect it, you can try DrWeb CureIT! instead.
Rt click the avast ball and update>programs (just to double check)
BTW did this machine have Norton/Symantec anti virus on it- ANSWER THIS question first
then open avast and schedule a boot time scan
send any hits to the chest and post log

  3. AUse SUPERantispyware, update clean quarantine do not remove/delete post log

3B go to Malwarebytes.org programs page run free Rogue Remover- update first any hits post log
3c Download and install Malware Bytes Anti Malware update scan
put a check mark next to any findings r=then click REMOVE CHECKED
post log

ON scans for spywares and trojans. If any infection is detected, better and safer is send the file to Quarantine than to simple delete than.

  1. Test your machine with anti-rootkit applications. run Trend Micro RootkitBuster.

read the sticke at the top of this forum about Hijack this (HJT)
5. Make a HijackThis log to post here . DO NOT TRY AND FIX ANYTHING

THIS IS AFTER YOU ARE CLEAN
6. Disable System Restore and then reenable it again.
7. Immunize your system with SpywareBlaster or Windows Advanced Care.
8. Check if you have insecure applications with Secunia Software Inspector.

Before anything…

  1. Remove NAV or Norton 360 through Add/Remove programs from Control Panel. Boot.
  2. Use Norton Removal Tool for Windows 2000/XP/Vista or Norton Removal Tool for Windows 98/Me. Boot.
  3. Install avast! (or repair the installation) and boot.

The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2008/2007/2006/2005/2004/2003 products and Norton 360 from your computer.
