Can VPN cause blocking of mail due to blacklisting

I have recently installed VPN but I am now getting mail blocked with the error message

"Delivery has failed on the enclosed message for the following
reasons reported either by the mail delivery system on the mail
relay host or by the local TCP/IP transport module:

522 Sorry, we couldn’t send your message. The network address your
device has been assigned is on an industry blacklist to prevent Spam."

This does not happen all the time. Is it possible that the virtual address it picks is the cause of my problem? Sign off and back on again later and it goes!

If the IP has been misused for spamming/hacking, yes.

Thank you Asyn. Are you saying that I should just clsoe VPN and the start it again to get a new IP address?

You’re welcome. Just disconnect/reconnect ASL or try another server.

It happened again this morning after Ihad “sent” two e-mails! I turned VPN off and it worked. It seems to me that AVAST should verify that the IP is safe before allocating the new IP to me. I am not very happy about this.

Contact support and report the IP in question: https://support.avast.com/contact

I see, so this is also related to the site that’s says my IP is banned. Sometimes I encounter this when I use the VPN, but it’s fine I just reconnect it again.
