Can we get rid of thesearchmall?

I have a new worm/virus that I can only find mention of in a couple of European forums. No help is listed though.
It is (for want of a better name) “thesearchmall” virus. This thing comes in and turns your home, search, etc. pages into thesearchmall.com pages. And not only that, it makes every banner ad you come across, on no matter what page it is, a porn ad. It also has pop-up porn ads! I can’t get rid of this thing. I’ve used avast, Spybot S&D, and Spyblaster and this thing keeps on ticking!
Have any of you heard of this or know how to get rid of it?
Please help, my sanity is waivering.

  1. this is not a virus, but a browser hijacker.

  2. get adaware and try that as well, search for this on google.com, download it and run.

  3. get hijackthis (bad name perhaps) it helps rid your system of browser hijacks, etc. - http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

  4. If that doesn’t do the trick, get cwshredder from the same download location in 3 above, this gets rid of some of the more persistant browser hijackers.
