Can you translate Avast into Lithuanian?

I live in Lithuania.Itself constantly use AVAST HOME EDITION and all acquaintance of mine and friends too use AVAST.But why-that no lithuanian of the interface. But I litter that beside versions 4.3 at one time was a lithuanian language module. If possible do AVAST with lithuanian by interface.Thank you.

The translations are done by volunteers.
Do you have some spare time to translate avast into Lithuanian?

It is possible, I was thinking about it. But it’s not easy to do for one person. And it’s a first real request on Lithuanian translation as far as I remember  So, question is still open.

It takes many hours indeed. There is the interface, help files and guides.
The advantage is the homogeneity.

There’s a number of languages where only the interface is translated, the helps are in English - and I’d say it’s better than not having the particular language version at all
(And, except for you, I don’t think any other volunteer ever translated the guides ;))

Which guides are we talking about anyway?

Translating help files is quite time consuming and that’s why I haven’t translated them (so far).

Things like this: http://www.avast.com/download-documentation

OK, if I’ll translate it to Lithuanian (interface only, not help files) what should I have? Any guide or should I install every version of avast to get everything translated? I can’t promise to do it fast, but I can try to do it

You need to download Passolo. http://www.sdl.com/en/language-technology/products/software-localization/downloads/
I can share experiences if you want

OK, I’ll PM you

Now you need the passolo file. Trevor is the guy (but he is traveling). Maybe Igor

I see. Well, I hope they will read this post and if they decide they are ready to give me a chance - they will contact me. One question - will this file contain data for all avast versions (Free, Pro, AIS) or is it separate files. Because translation is one kinda hard thing, but testing all versions on only one computer I have will be a headache too ;D

All data: free, pro and ais. Including server versions also.
You don’t need to test the versions.
Of course, it will help if you receive a license to use the paid and “see” the interface

I have AIS. You say server version… LOL ;D This is one I’m not familiar with.

Business Protection I meant. They’re already released to translation.
By the way, you need Passolo 8 (or 2009) and not Passolo 2011 (which is actually incompatible with avast needs).

ATM I’ve got all information I need from avast and started to work on translation. Going through easy ones now, leaving “nuts & candies” for last meal. It is a lot of them I’ll need to figure out how it may sound in Lithuanian. Lithuanian is not very flexible one on IT terms…

If you need suggestions, change experiences, etc., just let me know. Good work!

Most users are still poorly read in English or in general do not know him (and I translate as through Google Translator). And because the program Lithuanian interface and Lithuanians vote their suit, and help files and guides rarely read. And more than that of the free antivirus do not have any in the Lithuanian language, and from free antivirus only Dr.Web.So Avast would be a huge success among the Lithuanians, and if the interface appear www.avast.com ‘‘Region Selector-’‘Lithuanian.’’
