Cancel subscription for parent with dementia

I have been trying to cancel subscriptions on behalf of my Father who has dementia (and I have a power of attorney) however its like an impossible web to get through. I don’t know how / when the products were set up or the details used and meanwhile the money keeps flooding out of his account. I tried to cancel through the bank but that has not worked.

This is an interesting issue. I wonder if your father’s bank has a procedure for dealing with customers who are legally incapacitated due to illness. Maybe you should check with the bank about that. It seems to me that, since you have power of attorney, your father’s bank should stop all payments whenever you wish.

Thanks for your reply. The problem is I cannot get into his account to cancel it. He doesn’t know the passwords or even use email anymore. There should be some way of contacting Avast
