Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool x64 and save it to a flash drive.

[*]Plug the flashdrive into the infected PC.
[*]Restart your computer and tap F8 to bring up the Advanced Menu, then click Repair your computer
[*]Follow the prompt to enter keyboard input method, and then the prompt to enter a password. If the machine does not have a password, simply click Enter.

In the next menu, use the arrow keys on the keyboard to highlight Command Prompt and press Enter.

[*] In the command window type in notepad and press Enter.
[*] When notepad opens, click File and select Open.
[*]Select “Computer” and find your flash drive letter and close the notepad.
[*]In the command window type e:\frst64.exe and press Enter.

Note: Replace letter e with the drive letter of your flash drive.

[*]The tool will start to run. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
[*]Press Scan button.

It will make a log (FRST.txt) on the flash drive. Please attach it to your reply.

If this was your first installation of avast ?
Then this is usually offered to ensure a clean start state, but it doesn’t happen on every boot.

The boot-time scan is a special/specific scan that you have to schedule to run on the next boot, it is a one shot deal, if you want to run again you have to schedule it.

Thank you very much for your answer.

TwinHeadedEagle,
with time, the problem is solved. It went on 3 hours scan time … my computer is runing well again.
I noted your solution ; it can be usefull another day . I Will download this tool.
My hard drive is a velociraptor 250MB, i imagine the problem with a 1To HD as system drive.
I have seen that avast was scanning $recycle directory , it wrote 0% for a long time : why a directory containing deleted files ?

avast as been installed for 3 years, my problem happened after a detection of webcake that is consided as a malware.

avast should give an estimation of time scan when it propose a reboot with scan

F.P.

Yes after a detection, avast will suggest a boot-time scan to ensure there isn’t something else (possibly hidden when windows is running normally) other than that which was detected.

I would say it is going to be difficult for avast to give an estimate as this is a thorough scan, which will also unpack archives for scanning.
