Cannot access Amazon.com.

Installed avast 2014 free today. Performed a scan, several things found and dealt with. The program recommended a boot sector scan. Performed that. 1 ite found and dealt with.

Shut down system for several hours and rebooted it when I came back. Quite happily web surfing until …

… I attempted to access ‘Amazon.com’, no luck. It freezes on that page. Other internet tabs on the same browser page are still active, but the warning “Amazon.com is not responding” continues to come up. When this tab is ‘on top’ all the functions of the page are stymied. There is a small green ‘avast’ circle on the upper right part of the web browser bar with what looks to be a small red 1 inside it, but since the tab is frozen this won’t open either.

Obviously a setting needs to be changed somewhere for amazon.com

Thanks in advance.

No problem connecting to amazon.com here.

Whilst I no longer use the Avast! Online Security (AOS) add-on, the Inner Red circle with the 1 in it shouldn’t stop the page displaying. It is just giving an indication you might be giving information out. Obviously we can’t say what this might be as you can’t access that either.

Are you getting any problems with other sites or is it just amazom.com ?

What browser are you using ?

You could try disabling the Avast! Online Security (AOS) add-on in your browser and see if that helps, but I’m doubtful since this is only on amazon.com (that we know of).

Thanks for the advice.

For whatever reason Amazon is working now.

You’re welcome.
