I’m using Firefox 27.0.1.
I cannot access the settings of my avast online security addon.
If I click on the settings button in the sidebar nothing happens…
Can I reinstall it somehow or is this a general issue?
You can uninstall it via remove programs - click to uninstall avast then click change and untick Browser Protection, reboot and follow same procedure to re-install.

and I accidently flicked all components to off as I just wanted to reinstall that one tool
->then I realised that it was supposed to show the already installed tools…so I had to install it again afterwards
but that wasn’t a biggie
maybe someone else has an idea what I can do
if not → I will probably deinstall it anyways as it is not as good as WOT and as the hover function for Links in Google frustrates me → it stays visible until I hover over another link in Google and it overlays the content behind it → it should go invisible as soon as I stop hovering it…
Try the new beta version listed here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=147290.0 it’s quite stable and might have your issue resolved.
