When I click the Outlook icon I get the box “Unable to connect to the Avast engine. E-mail protection cannot be started.” Then it disconnects me from Outlook. Help! I am also told at the Avast dialiog that my temp. license is used up. I cannot get anywhere to re-register.

It’s most likely a licensing problem.
If you have avast! 4 Professional trial, and your trial period has expired, there is only one advise here – go and buy it ;D.
If you have avast! 4 Home, you can reregister (and get a new key) at http://www.avast.com/regist4.htm .

The problem is that I cannot access Outlook to get the key. I already did re-register. How am I going to get the key?

Anyway - avast! should NOT prevent you from opening Outlook - that is very strange…

How do I access an instant messaage?
When I go to Avast for help it will not allow me to proceed. It asks me for a license number. Is there any way you can give me a number to activate Avast? Perhaps then Outlook will work.
