cannot activate firewall on rooted phone

I have a rooted Galaxy Note but cannot activate the firewall even though superuser access for AMS is granted

The error message I get is “error applying firewall rules (eit code 1): klogctl! Function not implemented”.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled avast mobile security but to no avail.

How can I rectify this and activate the firewall please?!

I suppose you are running a custom ROM, where the needed function isn’t implemented.

I am using a custom ROM (Crash 8.2) however if this is the case then plenty of other swill be affected…

Try to flash hydra kernel, it should have iptables support compiled inside.

Thanks for responding but no use - I have been using notecore and now hydracore kernels in tandem with Crash ROM for the last couple of months, updating both as new versions published by the devs. Now on 3.1b.

l’ve got the exact same error message.
Have stock australian ICS with root and tested both speedmod and hydracore kernels, receiving the same message.
having to use an alternate app instead.
