Hello,
Before I have this issue, I uninstalled some programs (GTA 4) and updated my bios before restarting. Then it got stuck at starting windows. I can see the windows logo animation is still running so my system is not frozen.
When I try to get into safe mode, it gets stuck at aswrvrt.sys. I did not wait to see what happens because it was very late in the night. So i powered off and went to sleep.
I also tried startup repair and system restore (but it says that I don’t have any restore points saved)
I know this is about Avast so can you help me?
I am running Windows 7 HP 64bit SP1 and the latest version of Avast internet security.
Thank you and waiting for your replies!
What avast version are you using, the latest version released last night is 8.0.1488 ?
Hi,
I think I am using the latest version of Avast. I keep Avast on auto update.
I tried to boot into safe mode- gets stuck at avrast.sys.
I tried to boot with last known good configuration- worked.
I don’t dare to reboot my laptop now. Is there anything I should do now? (I get full access to windows explorer, internet etc…)
Please reply soon!
Hi this is not an Avast problem as the file aswrvrt.sys was the last one successfully loaded, so it is the file after that, that is at fault
There have been a spate of these since the last windows updates, and the reasons have been varied from a second hard drive to other Av drivers running.
