I have absolutely no problems with outpost firewall pro 4.0 and as you said you didn’t either so the issue is on how outpost firewall 2008 works, what to do about that is the problem.

Do a forum search for outpost 2008 and see what comes up as there have been a few topics where outpost 2008 (suite and stand alone) have been discussed, I don’t know if there might be anything in there to help.

Currently even though I have absolutely no intention to upgrade to outpost 2008 (even though I have a lifetime update license) as I feel it isn’t ready for prime time yet, there are lots of (or were) on the outpostfirewall.com forum about it.

You could try disabling any OP plug-ins especially the anti-spyware and see if that has any effect. I onlt have the attack detection and the dns cache plug-ins enabled.

Have you tried the manual setup of the browsers to use the proxy, etc. I suggested ?

I tried any combination… but the only presence of avast and outpost2008 freeze the internet connection… even if they are both shutdown and disabled. it’s not a problem of a single component, I must completely uninstall one of the programs for resolve…

Well you already know that avast works perfectly well with outpost 4.0.

Shutdown and disabled I’m afraid won’t cut it because of the fact that they will have virtual device drivers which are loaded in registry legacy keys. and if it is a clash of drivers it won’t have any effect just disabling one or both applications.

I don’t know what they have done in outpost 2008 which could cause this but these aren’t the only problems in OP 2008 as the outpostfirewall.com forum attests.
