Using windows 7x64. I have been troubleshooting issues with my PC including 5 min startups, infinite shutdowns, and missing icons.
I uninstalled Avast with control panel. I also used Avastclear. SFC report errors related to avast files:
CSI 00000039 [SR] Cannot verify component files for Avast.VC110.CRT, Version = 11.0.60610.1
I noticed Avast files left over in the Windows\winsxs folder, and deleted them. SFC still finds errors.
I reinstalled and then uninstalled with Revo uninstaller, using the highest settings for removing leftovers, and then used avast clear. Still have the same problem.
I noticed a task regarding Avast settings backup in C:\Windows\SysNative\Tasks\AVAST Software. I cannot locate this file, and cannot delete the task, for it always pops back on.
How do I remove every last bit of Avast??
