Cannot create rescue disks

Hi,
i recently installed the free version of Avast Antivirus, latest build 2014.9.0.2011, on a Windows seven x64 desktop PC, Italian version; problem is, i’m not able to complete the process for creating a rescue disk, either on CD or USB. The event.log file states that:

Rescue Disc - WinPE installer main installation failed, EC 00000643

What can i do? Thanks

After installig the Windows ADK by myself i got another, different error message:

Rescue Disc - WinPE2 creator init failed, EC 00000002

I don’t really know what the problem may be, any clue is welcome.

Best Regards

Should i open a ticket on the avast support site?

Yep.

Roger, thanks.

You’re welcome.

Found the problem by looking at the windows event viewer:

MsiInstaller ID 11335

Product: Windows PE x86 x64 -- Error 1335. The cabinet file '9722214af0ab8aa9dffb6cfdafd937b7.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package

I searched for the file in question, deleted it, restarted creation of rescue disk.

How can i contact the support guys back to tell them problem is solved?

Thanks,
Simone

Nevermind, there’s a “reply” button in the ticket.
