You can try schedule a scandisk (chkdsk /R) on drive C: and run it at next boot.
Maybe a file system error.
Well maybe its was deleted ?
Why do you want to delete it ?
Well, it is a normal file and I should be able to delete it.
Scandisk…
Scandisk…
Please see attached. I scanned the disk but I am still unable to delete this file. Any further suggestions!
Name and path of the file?
Name and path of the file?
Location: C:\Documents and Settings\sekasri\Desktop
File Name: AXIS BANK Statement for June 2009.pdf
It is perfectly a genuine file and there is no virus.
-= Try a file shredder… Download accelerator Plus has one…
-= MBAM’s file assassin might help too…
If you try to open the file, will it open?
If you right-click and select “properties”, does that give any clues at all?
Quite strange.
Try deleting it from an admin account, maybe.

I have admin privilege. Please see attached. Properties show nothing except it is a zero byte file.

Tried file shredder but it also couldn’t delete this file.
I would wait and see what other more experienced/knowledgeable helpers might suggest once they came back to this thread and see what the status is.
If it were me, I’d just try shredding/erasing it (if possible). That’s perhaps not a fix, though, because it doesn’t solve the issue of why you can’t delete it.
PS, actually, what happens if you try to open it?
Found an old post on another forum with a similar problem. This is page 4. Linked from it is a shareware (free trial) program that was found to fix the issue. It’s here.
Another suggestion included the possibility of a rootkit. Definitely possible; less so if you recognize the file as having been legitimate.
Hope this helps.

Thank you very much. It worked.
Ah, good.
Glad to have been able to help.
Was it once a legit file? Looks like it.
Sometimes, only using Unlocker (http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/) or KillBox (http://killbox.net/) or MoveOnBoot (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/moveonboot.html) or Delete FXP (http://www.jrtwine.com/) you can delete files that, for any reason, have a bad ‘signature’ in the Master File Table (MFT).

It was a perfectly legitimate file. It was scanned for viruses at three different places by three different software.
