Cannot Disable Sandbox on Win7 PC

Hello,
I have Avast Internet Security and had a remote session with tech support for a music server company yesterday. She updated Java and had some issues with the update, I use Firefox and she ended up having to use Chrome to get it loaded. She had multiple DOS prompts open running pings and after I noticed when I tried to save a notepad file it took a really long time. I noticed Avast Sandbox was in the upper right tab. I tired to turn off Sandbox and it still remains there. It takes almost a minute to get to the directory tree and when I try to save the file As it does not even save it. I disabled Avast completely adn restarted the machine adn it still has Sandbox up. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Frank

try avast repair

controlpanel > ad/remove programs > avast > uninstall/change > repair option

any change

Hi Frank, welcome to the forum

As you describe it, it could be that something ( except of course your browser(s) ) is opened automaticly in the Sandbox.
Open the Avast User Interface and go to :

Settings - Tools - Sandbox - Customise - Virtualised processes.

Is there anything else ( except your browser(s) ) listed under " Virtualised processes " or " Virtualised folders" ? ( see screenshot )
When yes, click on each of such items, and delete them from those lists.
Than reboot your system, open the Avast User Interface again, and to delete the Sandbox contents go to :

Settings - Tools - Sandbox - Customise - Webbrowsers - Maintenance - Delete contents.

( The reboot is to be sure the Sandbox is no longer in use )

Let me know if this helps you.
