cannot email photograph attachments

One of your posts about repairing Avast helped me get back Outlook Express on Internet Explorer. About the same time that problem showed up, another problem started: photographs attached to emails cannot be sent. (Or maybe they cannot be received. I’ve been trying to send them to myself as a sort of test to see if they look the way I want them to) In one of your updates did you add a security feature to prevent photos from being sent or received? If so how can this feature be modified?

No, avast doesn’t block attachments photos or otherwise unless they are infected.

What is your email program?
Can you send normal email?
Can you send email with non-photo attachments?

What error/messages are you getting to indicate they aren’t being sent?
What size are the image attachments? - try a much smaller one and see if that is sent.

Today I received about 7 Mt photographs with MS Outlook Express and there wasn´t any problem to get them through with Avast.

No… as far we know.
Most probably a firewall issue, or even a privacy feature of the firewall.
How the photographs are sent, I mean, which the extension of the files?
Which is the error message? Isn’t it a problem of timeouts? How do you connect to the Internet (dial-up / ADSL)?
