Seems I can no longer enter my Avast password to get to my settings when remotely logging in to the system using Teamviewer. Keyboard input is non-existent in the Avast password field. The person sitting at the computer can type in, however I do not want to share my password. What can I do? Thanks.
Win 10 Home x64
Avast v12.3.2280 (build 12.3.3154.6)
I had exactly this issue yesterday when I’ve trying to manage Avast in my mother’s computer
I’m sure I could do it before… Or it is an Avast update or Windows 10 one…
Yes, I have been able to do it previously, so it’s either an Avast update or a W10 update (Teamviewer has not updated recently).
Since this is my 4th post, I’m so happy to see the captcha is gone!
Just FYI. I’ve been to support, they tell me to repair the Avast installation and make sure Teamviewer is up-to-date. You have to boot into safe mode, remove C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\aswResp.dat and you will get access back to your program. Of course, they didn’t tell me this, I had to go searching for it myself.
Repairing Avast doesn’t work.
I have TWO systems exhibiting the same problem; one is W10Pro v1607 and the other is W10Home v1511. There’s obviously a problem with Avast. I think this proves that it is NOT a Windows 10 update.
Update
The v1511 computer updated to v1607 on Saturday. Still had problems, so removed the asw file in safe mode and left it that way over the weekend.
I just logged into both machines and put the password back into the Avast settings. Avast Support were going to remote in and take a look tomorrow. I checked the Update History, and there have been 2 Windows Updates that came through: KB3188128 and KB3176936, Then, I updated Teamviewer (there was a minor update available). Rebooted, and now it’s working! How can this be? I don’t understand it. ???
