Cannot get rid of WebRep in Safari!

I have tried to uninstall WebRep through the Avast control window and through Safari’s Extension prefs. It always comes back, apparently on Avast updates. If find the little WebRep popup annoying and pretty much useless in Safari. Anyone have any idea how to get rid of WebRep permanently, aside from totally uninstalling Avast?

Seems like a bug. Can you please specify what version of avast! program you have installed?

Best regards,
Mity

avast! Free Antivirus version: 7.0 (38403); Virus definitions version: 13030400

I have exactly the same problem. Can’t get rid of Webrep on Safari with Avast Mac 7.0 (38403)

Uninstalling through Avast control panel or Safari plugin manager works during the session, but once I reboot my Mac the Webrep plugin is automatically reinstalled for every browser (Safari, Chrome and Firefox) and it is VERY annoying.

Thanks for the reports. Today we release a minor update (38446) with some bug fixes and this one should be addressed.

Best regards,
Mity

The program update (38446) today fixed the reappearing WebRep problem! Thank you!

I have updated to program update (38446), and I still get the reappearing WebShield in the latest stable Google Chrome (25.x).

Same here. Uninstalling. Who would pay for this anti-virus I have no idea.
